But can we live up to this scientific attitude in real life? Probably not, but certainly not. Rationally, it is possible to avoid both negation and affirmation when we do not have the means to know something, but we have no choice but to do so when it comes to our practical life. It is not a matter of either denying or confessing. 
For example, there is a person you do not know. If you have nothing to do with it, it is possible for you not to rule on whether he is honest or not. But when you have to deal with it, you have to deal with it either honestly or dishonestly. You may think in your mind that we will deal with doubt until it is proven to be honest or not. But whatever you do, considering his sincerity to be in doubt, will, in fact, be the same as it would have been if he had denied his sincerity. Therefore, the state of doubt between denial and confession can only be in the mind. A practical attitude can never be based on doubt. For this, either confession or denial is necessary.
